"Rimrock Shadows" is the handle I photograph under. It is the name that my grandmother gave to my family home in the foothills of the Sierra Nevada. I knew I was creative as I kid growing up in Portland, Oregon. When I was nine, I moved to the coast of Maine (the other Portland) where my formative years were spent learning photography.

 

When I moved to CA, I launched a portrait and wedding photography business in Chico, CA. My photography career also brought me to the Middle East where I was a photojournalist and tour guide.​ I had a brief pause from photography for a few years, but then picked my camera back up and focused on astrophotography and natural northern California landscapes.

 

In  2023, I became an FAA Part 107 drone pilot, offering creative services through my drone, which I've named Icarus. In 2024, I became a glass artist. There are no ends to the mediums that an artist can pick up and I hope you'll find my eclectic collection of work something to enjoy.
