To Catch a Jumping Spider

If you have any aversion to arachnids, then stop where you are and continue no further. You would, however, miss out on this polite and slightly cute (?) jumping spider. His name is Rocky, fans of Andy Weir will know why, and he played quite the game of cat and mouse as my camera followed him wherever he decided to jump to next. From books to rocks to nooks, the hunt was on.

These images were captured with a borrowed macro lens and recently purchased used extension tubes. I'm really starting to appreciate the joys of macro photography and the tiny intelligent creatures that live under our noses. After extensively taking photos, he was rescued and relocated to the great outdoors, of course.
